Home Assist provides home healthcare, skilled nursing services, and disease management for seniors in the greater St. Louis area. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, reliable, and safe home healthcare to those who are living with chronic conditions, recovering from illness or surgery, or simply in need of daily assistance. Home Assist’s team of experienced healthcare professionals is on call 24/7 to provide clinical and compassionate support for all your home care needs. We have the resources and experience to help you, or your loved one, maintain independence in their home. Needs may change. Treatment may change. But the location never varies: home.

Skilled Nursing

When you’re recovering from recent surgery or illness, it is often a difficult and taxing effort to seek medical treatment outside of the home setting.  This is where we come in.  The nursing staff at Home Assist work in collaboration with your treating physician and provide the medical care you need, in the comfort of your own home. From medication teaching and post-surgical treatment to wound care or new ostomy teaching, the Home Assist nurses have you covered.  Our goal is to teach the patient and caregiver how to manage their condition at home.  We also want to help them remain independent and keep them out of the hospital.  To learn if you would qualify for nursing care or more information click here.

Physical Therapy

The physical therapy team at Home Assist specializes in improving physical strength, balance, and mobility, reducing pain and restoring the function of patients’ in the comfort of their own home.  That’s right, we come to you!  A common side effect to a recent hospitalization or illness is muscle weakness.  Many patients leave the hospital feeling physically weak.  Our team of therapists will be an excellent resource in providing a safe and successful recovery.  At your first visit, they will customize a physical therapy program specific to your needs.  It is our goal to assist you in returning to your prior level of function and decreasing re-hospitalizations.  To learn more about our therapy program click here.

Occupational Therapy

From bathing and dressing to excellent motor skills such as dialing a phone number or holding utensils, our therapists at Home Assist work hard at recovering the skills needed to live life more independently. At your first visit, an occupational therapist (OT) will first assess your abilities, desired activities, and home environment. Then collaboratively, you and the OT will establish goals to help you manage safely and productively—at home. “I was drawn to home health for the opportunity to practice in a true context. Speech Therapy

Do you or your loved one struggle with word finding or trouble swallowing?  The speech therapists at Home Assist can help!  They travel to the patient’s home to assess and treat speech and language concerns as well as memory and swallowing difficulties.  Our therapy team believes the care provided in the home setting allows for a more individualized, one-on-one interaction, in an environment where the patient feels most comfortable. Social Work

The social workers at Home Assist help patients navigate through complex healthcare decisions.  They are well versed in financial and social resources available in the St. Louis and St. Charles area.  From helping patients’ obtain transportation services to learning how to get their medications and medical care at a cheaper cost, our MSW’s provide an invaluable resource to both the patients and staff at Home Assist.  To learn more about the services offered click here.


We have a team of registered dietitians who visit the homes of patients to address their diet and healthcare needs specifically.  Some studies show that 40% of older adults are not getting the adequate nutrients needed.  Diet and nutrition play a crucial role in those disease and illness recovery.  The Home Assist dietitian will work with you to develop an individualized meal plan based on your budget and preferences.  To learn more about our services click here.

Certified Nurse Assistant

If you or your loved one is receiving nursing or therapy services through Home Assist and they require assistance with bathing, insurance often provides reimbursement for a certified nurse assistant to assist with bathing.  Contact us today if you need help with bathing.

Private Duty / Caregiving

The private duty and caregiving home health needs through Home Assist are perfect for those individuals who want to remain in their home but require some assistance with tasks.  Our home health aides are there to provide assistance with bathing, housekeeping, meal planning, and errands.  Our compassionate caregivers are there to offer the support needed to remain safe and independent in the comfort of their own home.  For more information click here.
